Loving Boys! Yates Mill Photographer Raleigh

How cute are these two boys.  The page boy hats with the rustic background of Yates Mill makes for the perfect portrait.  I know Mom will be loving these!

Funniest Request EVER!

Ok... Every once in a while I get an email that has me rolling on the floor!  This was one such email.  I couldn't help but post it!!!!

Hi Diane,

My parent's 40th anniversary is coming up and it struck me that some time with you would make a very nice gift. If you're interested I'd love to set something up. Their house is littered with decades of hyper posed chin on fist Olin Mills abominations, so a few quality photos would be a very welcome change.

Before you say yes, there's a few things you should know in the interest of full disclosure...

They don't photograph particularly well. Just look at my picture and add 20 years. See what I mean?

They'll require a bit of handholding and perhaps some guidelines beforehand with regard to wardrobe. Plaid and stripes. They'll do it. I've seen it.

They'll be exceptionally nervous, anxious and eager to please, meaning that they'll smile perpetually like Cheshire cats and answer any question you ask with "anything you say is just fine". Wanna do a few dressed as head bangin' rodeo clowns playing air guitars to Van Halen's Hot for Teacher? Yep, they sure do. Anything you say is just fine. You'll have to make most of the decisions.

Mom wears these big glasses with Transistions auto-tinting lenses that make her look like Keith Richards with a perm in direct sunlight. Also, she seems to have a congenital condition that impairs her ability to open her eyes during photographs. Sorry, no suggestions, yer' just gonna have to work around those...

Anyway, if all of that isn't enough to send you running to the hills, then yer' my girl. The upside is, they're both exceptionally cute and my Mom will most probably bring you cookies.

I have no timeline for this what so ever. Whatever works for you and them is fine for me. They're both retired so nearly anytime will work. Just let me know what you'd require in the way of wampum ahead of time and I'll cut you a check. You can pick the outdoor venue of your choice and we'll figure out a way to get you all on the same page with regard to when.

Many thanks,

-ron

G Gang! Yates Mill Portrait Photographer

How great is this brother and sister team!  Look at those eyes.  Gotta love it when I get to photograph such fun and cute people.  We went out to the historic Yates Mill to photograph these two.  It is just beautiful out there and will be even more so in the upcoming weeks.

Kendra & Jason's Mr. & Mrs. Session the Day After: New Bern Portrait Photographer

Here is Kendra & Jason's day after Mr. & Mrs. Session I promised to post. How awesome is this to photograph.  I just LOVE doing these.  Basically you get up the next day and get right back in your duds (yes ladies you get to wear the dress twice! Three times if you had a bridal portrait!)  and go out and spend the morning shooting.  This is so much fun and stress free and no worries about what you did or didn't have time to do on the day of the wedding.  And if you want to keep your hair down versus up on the day of the ceremony then you can have a little of both.   Kendra and Jason you guys did GREAT!!! I had a VERY hard time narrowing it down to just these and facebook will have even more!

Kendra & Jason Dream Wedding: Whitford Plantation Wedding Photographer New Bern NC

What an amazing wedding.  There were so many special moments to photograph.  Although the wedding was absolutely beautiful what was the most beautiful was how the bride and groom never lost for a minute that it was about them getting married and not the cake, flowers or having everything run perfectly.  (Because it never really does.)  ;  )  A true testament to the bride is how she reacted to a very close family member who got lost on the way to the ceremony.  The bride knowing this special person would be very sad at missing the ceremony waited for her to attend.  I know all the guests felt the same way knowing how special this person was to her and the family.  During the ceremony when the bride and groom exchanged rings the bride got so excited.  MORE excited than normal.  She was laughing and smiling as he put the ring on her.  Evidently the ring was not supposed to be ready in time for the ceremony but SOMEHOW the groom made it happen.  So she was very surprised when he put it on her finger.  Next (and this one made us all cry) the groom had sold an old camero that he had personally restored to help in putting down the down payment for their first home together.  The bride and groom had decided to do a rose petal exit after the ceremony. Can you guess what was waiting outside for them? THE CAMERO!  The bride had bought it back for him!  Amazing... And lastly during the toasts a groomsman whom I we shot their wedding a couple of years ago presented the groom with a replica of the camero that the groom sold knowing how important that car was to him. Obviously he didn't know the bride had bought it back but still so thoughtful!   A GREAT group of people.  I absolutely LOVED photographing this wedding but I am not sure which I loved more- the wedding photography or the day after session!  And I will be posting their Mr. & Mrs. Session the next day soon!  You will love it!

Little Baby S: Raleigh Infant Portrait Photographer

What a SWEET little baby.   And Mom was a lot of fun to hang out with too!  For a first time Mom she really seems to have it figured out.  RARE by the way, so don't feel bad if you don't.  This little guy really seemed to love having his picture taken too.  He didn't seem to mind at all awake OR asleep!
